I prefer the f430 over the 458. I understand that it doesn't perform as well, but in my opinion it looks better, sounds better, and is more fun to drive. I'll go crawl in a corner now.

I'm with you...the proportions on the 430 are more cohesive. Now I've only driven the 430 and I'm sure the 458 is better, but I will probably never attain the level of skill to really take advantage of the 458's superiority. Also you can get the 430 with 3 pedals...so there is that.

I have no preference for the looks of either one. As we know from the Top Gear, the 458 will eat the 430's lunch. I'm guessing, having driven neither, that the real-world performance of the 430 is better than acceptable, even on the track. I might have the skills (it's been a long time) to get the 430 around a circuit, but I'd likely trash a more powerful car.

I've thought that for a long time... but now I'm starting to change my mind and warm up to the 458. I think the weakness of the 430 is the front... that bumper hasn't aged well on the originals (Scuderia definitely helped in that dept.). The rest of the car though... still absolutely gorgeous.

I have a darker secret... I think the 360 looks better than either of them.
The closest I've come to driving one though is riding in a buddy's Fiero. LOL.

I really like them both, so I'll put it this way: If we're talking F1 transmissions, I'd have to take the 458, because the 458 transmission is a dual clutch, while the F430 is a single clutch (which isn't that great). BUT if it's a gated manual F430 vs 458, I'm going F430 all the way.

I like the F430 Scuderi a. I also like the 458 Speciale . Never driven any of them yet either but I lean to the 458 Italia/Speciale because, because it does the amazing F430 stuff even better. Better aerodynamics (which is incredible for cars not having a traditional spoiler), better acceleration, better handling. better technology. Yeah the navigation screen on a 458 Italia/Speciale can't show 2 things at the same time, but it doesn't look like a kit car (like the Enzo) or have jacked up mechanics (like the 599) and continues their legacy properly.
